MISSIONS FAQs
Who can apply for a Nova Church mission trip?
At this time, we are only taking applications from those who live in in the Greater Houston Area. If you are interested in serving in the mission field but do not live in the greater Houston area, we encourage you to connect with a local church for available opportunities.
What does the application process look like?
Download the application to apply. After your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by our team and an interview meeting will be scheduled. This is done to get to know you better, follow up with any questions or address any concerns that may arise. Once interviews are complete, you will receive packet with fundraising information, itinerary of trip, etc.
Do I need a valid passport?
Yes. If you don’t already have a passport, please contact the proper agency for the country of your passport. U.S. citizens can renew or apply for a passport online or find a local Post Office that provides passport services. U.S. passports typically take about six weeks to process.
Is there a minimum age for trip participation?
The minimum age for the trip is 16yrs old.
Will I have to fundraise on my own?
The majority of your fundraising will be done individually. We will provide tips + resources to help in your fundraising efforts.
Will I receive any training or preparation before the trip?
Yes. All team members are required to attend the scheduled team trainings. Training will cover subjects such as how to evangelize in another culture, what to pack for your trip, team building, prayer, ministry activities and more.
Is experience needed to be a part of the missions trip?
No. There is no experience needed. All you need is a heart ready to serve + energy to make this happen.
What does the cost of the trip cover?
The trip cost covers airfare, housing expenses, ground transportation, and all meals at the location. The trip cost does not cover money for souvenirs or meals during travel to/from the location.
What will I be doing on the trip?
Serving! But on a more detailed note, there will be different activities that we will be a part of. From serving the homeless to ministering in the Red light district, working with the immigrant population and inspiring the children of tijuana, we will be the hands and feet of Jesus to those we encounter.
