IN THIS SEASON

What a week this has been! In the midst of the season we are facing I want to encourage you to know that God is still good and He is in control.  I also wanted to share one of my favorite verses to go to in seasons of uncertainty and trouble.  Look at what Philippians 4:4-7 says:

“4, always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

What a powerful couple of verses! Paul is encouraging people while in prison to rejoice, be happy and remain grateful for all God has done, even when things aren’t going well for him. Just as he did for the people in that time, I believe these verses are relevant to us today.  Can you imagine if we encouraged people to do the same in the midst of what we are facing?  We would spread hope in the midst of uncertainty and show them that no matter what our outward circumstances might be, they don’t determine our inner attitudes. In these verses, we see that Paul was full of joy because he knew that no matter what storm he faced; Jesus was there. For many of us this is a reminder of His goodness.  We may be facing the darkest season but through it all we should be encouraged to know that He is there with us and know that a prayer can change everything.  As we face a season of unknowns, know that you are in our prayers!  Our best days are still out ahead.
