HOPE AS AN ANCHOR

Every time I get the privilege to worship our God, I get reminded of the certainty of His promise. It was because of this promise swore onto Himself that I am now able to find hope in Him. In my life, His promise is reflected in His faithfulness. I’ve seen His hand throughout my life, I see it now, and I believe I will see it in my future.

Hebrews 6:19-20a says “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm, and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.”

A little history lesson, back before Jesus came to Earth, only a high priest was allowed to go into the presence of God. He was supposed to bring in an offering and ask for forgiveness for the rest of us. Then, Jesus comes in with his life, death as a living sacrifice, and resurrection to change it all. This event did a lot of things, but personally, He gave me a ticket with unlimited access to freely seek God. How cool is that? I can lift my hands and worship with no fear, shame, or condemnation. I can pray, trust, and hope that His promise is unshaken. I see the cross and know that it overcame any doubt, disease, trouble, and imperfection. I know that it doesn’t matter what’s going on around me, my God reigns. He is King!
